We've developed a deep and abiding love for our Goldens and consciously work towards following the breed standard and helping to improve the health of this great breed.

While breeding show dogs is an important part of a comprehensive breeding program, a beautiful dog with poor manners, aggressive behavior, or inappropriate animal behavior does not properly represent the breed. These situations typically arise from not being fully aware of these traits when breeding and are largely seen in what are generally called 'backyard breeders'. These breeders do not generally know bloodlines, temperament, or medical histories on the animals they breed.

Due to the very nature of our fun-loving, gentle breed, temperament is also a critical part of our breeding program. We screen our breeding stock and take great care to ensure the proper temperament is bred. Many of our clients have children and proper behavior is critical to them. Still others have used their animals as service dogs for the physically disabled and mental health field. These varied situations are several reasons why we emphasize socialization prior to providing our puppies to their new owners.

As important as temperament is to our breeding program, it is also an important component for the humans involved in the raising of Golden Retrievers. We only accept referrals from veterinarians, other breeders, and current owners of our dogs and bitches. Many of the veterinarians we have dealt with in the past are located on our contacts page.
